The armed wing of the Palestinian militant group Hamas on Saturday (December 16) released a video it said shows al-Qassam Brigade fighters attacking an Israeli forces base in Juhr Al-Dik in the Gaza Strip.
Reuters was not able to confirm the location or the date when the videos were filmed.
According to a statement released with the video, Hamas said it killed an Israeli soldier in the base and seized his M16 weapon.
Since Israel's ground campaign began in late October, about 110 Israeli soldiers have been killed as tanks and infantry thrust into the cities and refugee camps, according to official Israeli figures. About a quarter were tank crew.
In a surprise cross-border attack on Oct. 7, Hamas militants rampaged through Israeli towns, killing 1,200 people and capturing 240 hostages. Israel's counterattack has killed close to 19,000 people, according to Gaza health authorities, with thousands more feared buried under rubble.
