I saw this tarantula this morning at Valley of Fires Recreational Area Carrizozo NM Oct 2023. It was trying to cross the sidewalk I think but kept following the curb. I blocked it with my sunglasses and it just went around them. I tried that a second time and it climbed over the curb and headed away hopefully on its original heading. A few minutes later 3 women with about 10 kids about 3 to 5 years old came by. I'm glad it was gone. They might have hurt it by mistake.
