This is the most powerful missile ever built by North Korea.

It was supposedly launched in retaliation to South Korea meeting with US defence officials to plan against their northern neighbours launching a nuclear attack.

The intercontinental ballistic missile was launched on Monday morning from the Pyongyang area, travelling for 73 minutes before landing west of the Japanese island Hokkaido.

The North Korean regime released this dramatic montage to celebrate the successful launch.

This is the second time in two months Kim Jong-un’s nation has violated UN sanctions.

Last month, South Korea suspended their military agreement with the North, after they launched a spy satellite into orbit.
