Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, said Washington and its Asian allies are dedicated to ensuring stability in the Taiwan Strait. The national security advisers of the United States, South Korea and Japan met in Seoul on December 9. Recently, naval vessels from the US and Western allies have intensified "freedom of navigation" crossings in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea. Meanwhile, Taiwan said 12 Chinese fighter jets and a suspected weather balloon crossed the Taiwan Strait's sensitive median line.
