Hi everyone! Welcome to Storytime with Mili and Thomas. Today at the Mili's Lighthouse we have a lovely book, The Little House, written and illustrated by Virginia Lee Burton. This book was written in 1942, and in 1943 it won the Caldecott Award. I was introduced to it by a fellow colleague when I worked in a school library. She saw how much I enjoyed picture books and asked if I had ever read, The Little House. I had never heard of it, so we went to look for it and after I read it, I had to get a copy for my own. I think you will all just love the main character as much as I did. This story will have you thinking about how things change around us and it will make you question which is better: the city or the country? I think each has its own magic. What do you think?
