What's a writing warm-up strategy Penny uses almost every day? Free writing!
In this Writing Warm-Up, we'll learn the basics of free writing and how it can be used to loosen up those writing muscles and get the (crazy!) ideas flowing.
What you'll need: Just the basics - your preferred writing materials. (Penny uses pen and paper.)
Level: Advanced.
What do the levels mean?
Writing Warm-Ups can be used by writers at any stage. However the following guide will help you avoid warm-ups that might be a little tricky for less confident writers.
Basic Warm-Ups require basic writing skills, for example, writers in years 1-2 and above.
Intermediate Warm-Ups require a little more writing fluidity and speed, e.g. for writers in years 3-4 and above.
Advanced Warm-Ups are for confident writers, typically for writers in years 4,5 and 6 and above depending on ability.
