An unhinged man used a steak knife to butcher four of his relatives, including an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, and set their Queens home ablaze — before he injured two police officers and was shot dead by cops Sunday morning.
Officers received a 911 call from a teenage girl who said her cousin “was killing her family members” at 467 Beach 22nd Street, a two-story multi–family home in Far Rockaway, around 5:10 a.m. Sunday — and she then jumped out of a window to escape, NYPD officials and police sources said.
When officers arrived, the suspect — who was attempting to leave the home with luggage in tow — slashed one cop in the face and another in the neck, NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey said during a press conference.
“As they get to the driveway they see a male walking out. He’s carrying luggage. The officers asked the male a question or two, an encounter that lasted about 10 seconds, where the male draws a knife on our officers. He stabs one officer in the neck/chest area and strikes the second officer in the head,” Maddrey said.
The suspect, identified as Courtney Gordon, 38, was then shot and killed by a 28-year veteran officer, according to the NYPD.
