Sky News Weather Meteorologist Bradlyn Oakes says a cyclone is forming off the coast of Queensland.
Ms Oakes said there is potential through mid-next that it will “have some significant impacts along the Queensland coast”.
“We have to take this with a little bit of a grain of salt because we are watching this system move through,” Ms Oakes said.
“We would be watching for it to intensify fairly quickly over the coming days and then we will have a better idea.
“We are keeping a close eye on what potentially could be the first cyclone of the season."
