Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is under pressure from his own party following the resignation of immigration minister Robert Jenrick.
The Tory MP for Newark said he did not think the PM's emergency legislation to revive the stalled asylum plan would "end the merry-go-round of legal challenges" which have so far paralysed the scheme.
Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman also warned the Conservatives face "electoral oblivion" if the Bill fails.
